Biotin

What it actually is

A B vitamin, also known as B7, that gut bacteria produce in small quantities as well as coming from food.

What it does in the body

Contributes to the maintenance of normal hair, skin and mucous membranes, and is involved in the metabolism of fats and carbohydrates.

Where else to get it

Eggs, groundnuts, almonds, sweet potato. Raw egg white binds biotin and blocks absorption; cooking solves it.

In the formula

Biotin is the ingredient behind most hair and nail supplements. Its effect on hair in people who are not deficient is far less established than the marketing suggests.

KABO does not publish a milligram-by-milligram breakdown of every micronutrient, so this page describes what the ingredient is and what it is needed for rather than how much of it a serving contains. The full ingredient list is printed on every pack and set out at kabo.co.in/pages/ingredients. This is general nutrition information, not medical advice — if you are pregnant, managing a medical condition or taking medication, talk to your doctor before changing what you take.
