Lactase

What it actually is

The enzyme that splits lactose, the sugar in milk. Most of the world's adults — and a large majority of Indian adults — produce less of it after childhood.

What it does in the body

Helps digest lactose if you mix your shake with dairy milk. The KABO formula itself is dairy-free, so this enzyme is there for what you add, not for what is in the sachet.

Where else to get it

Curd and buttermilk are easier on lactose-intolerant guts than plain milk, because the bacteria have already done part of the work.

In the formula

Useful if you take your shake with milk; irrelevant if you take it with water.

KABO does not publish a milligram-by-milligram breakdown of every micronutrient, so this page describes what the ingredient is and what it is needed for rather than how much of it a serving contains. The full ingredient list is printed on every pack and set out at kabo.co.in/pages/ingredients. This is general nutrition information, not medical advice — if you are pregnant, managing a medical condition or taking medication, talk to your doctor before changing what you take.
