Chlorella — What It Is, What It Does, Indian Food Sources

How KABO describes it“A detoxifying superalgae packed with chlorophyll, rich in vitamins, and supports immune function”
Chlorella

What it actually is

A single-celled freshwater green algae, grown in tanks and dried into a deep green powder. Its cell walls are cracked during processing, because intact ones are indigestible.

What it does in the body

Dense in chlorophyll, protein and a range of micronutrients for its weight. The word detox gets attached to it often and loosely — your liver and kidneys do that job, and no food replaces them.

Where else to get it

Nothing in a normal Indian kitchen is equivalent. Dark leafy greens deliver overlapping nutrients at much lower cost.

In the formula

One of the two green ingredients, alongside spinach in the vegetable blend.

KABO does not publish a milligram-by-milligram breakdown of every micronutrient, so this page describes what the ingredient is and what it is needed for rather than how much of it a serving contains. The full ingredient list is printed on every pack and set out at kabo.co.in/pages/ingredients. This is general nutrition information, not medical advice — if you are pregnant, managing a medical condition or taking medication, talk to your doctor before changing what you take.
