Sodium — What It Is, What It Does, Indian Food Sources

Sodium

What it actually is

The electrolyte most people get too much of rather than too little, mostly from processed food, pickles and papad rather than the salt shaker.

What it does in the body

Maintains fluid balance and is required for nerve signalling and muscle contraction. Losses through sweat are real and matter after hard training in Indian heat.

Where else to get it

Salt, pickles, papad, packaged snacks, restaurant food.

In the formula

The amount here is small and deliberate — enough to carry flavour and replace some of what training costs you, not enough to matter against a typical day's intake.

KABO does not publish a milligram-by-milligram breakdown of every micronutrient, so this page describes what the ingredient is and what it is needed for rather than how much of it a serving contains. The full ingredient list is printed on every pack and set out at kabo.co.in/pages/ingredients. This is general nutrition information, not medical advice — if you are pregnant, managing a medical condition or taking medication, talk to your doctor before changing what you take.
