Brown Rice Protein — What It Is, What It Does, Indian Food Sources

How KABO describes it“A sulfur-amino-acid-packed, easily digestible plant protein that complements pea protein to form a complete amino acid profile”
Brown Rice Protein

What it actually is

Protein milled and separated from whole brown rice. On its own it is short on lysine; what it has in abundance is the sulphur amino acids methionine and cysteine, which is precisely what pea protein lacks.

What it does in the body

Completes the amino acid profile when blended with pea protein — the pair together score as a complete protein in a way neither manages alone. It is also gentle on digestion and free of the common allergens.

Where else to get it

Rice itself, obviously, but at a fraction of the concentration: a bowl of cooked rice is around 4 g of protein, most of a day's worth of carbohydrate along with it.

In the formula

Only in Butter Coffee. The White Chocolate Blueberry blend uses yeast protein for the same purpose.

KABO does not publish a milligram-by-milligram breakdown of every micronutrient, so this page describes what the ingredient is and what it is needed for rather than how much of it a serving contains. The full ingredient list is printed on every pack and set out at kabo.co.in/pages/ingredients.
