KABO Nutrition MCP Server: Privacy Policy

This policy covers the KABO Indian Nutrition Index MCP server and API (https://kabo-nutrition-mcp.onrender.com/mcp and /api/v1), which AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude can connect to for Indian food nutrition data and KABO product information. Your use of the kabo.co.in website and store is covered separately by our store privacy policy.

What we collect

The server needs no account, login or API key. For each tool call it records one log line containing only:

  • the time of the call;
  • the tool used (for example lookup_food);
  • the arguments the assistant sent, shortened to 80 characters — food names, a body weight or age in years, search words, or a product name;
  • whether the call came over MCP or the REST API;
  • the name of the client software, taken from the MCP client's self-description or the HTTP User-Agent (for example “ChatGPT” or “claude-desktop”).

What we do not collect

  • No names, email addresses, phone numbers, account details or payment information.
  • No IP addresses — the server does not write them to its logs.
  • No conversation content beyond the tool arguments listed above. We never receive your chat with the assistant.
  • No cookies, device fingerprints or cross-site tracking.

A body weight or age sent to protein_target is not linked to any person: we receive the number, not who it belongs to. Please do not put personal details such as names or contact information into the questions you ask an assistant to look up.

How we use it

Only to run and improve the service: to see which tools and foods are used, find foods the dataset does not yet cover, and fix errors. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising or build profiles of people.

Links back to kabo.co.in

Links the server returns — article sources, product pages and cart links — carry campaign parameters (utm_source=kabo-mcp) so we can see how many visits arrive from AI assistants. Nothing is tracked unless you choose to open a link. Once you are on kabo.co.in, our store privacy policy applies.

Sharing and service providers

We do not share the log data with anyone. The server runs on Render (render.com), a hosting provider that stores the service logs on our behalf. To show live prices, the product tools read public product information from kabo.co.in; no data about you is sent in that request.

Retention

Log lines are kept in our hosting provider's service logs for that provider's standard retention period, typically days to a few weeks, and are not exported, copied elsewhere or combined with other data. We may keep aggregate counts, such as how many times a tool was used in a month, which contain no individual entries.

Children

The service provides general nutrition information and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes

If the server's data practices change, we will update this page and its date before the change takes effect.
